It is with great sadness that we share the news that Dr. Ben Fritz passed away last night of cancer. His illness was brief and comes as a shock to the GW community, and to us. He shaped our lives in countless ways as a dedicated musician, fun-loving professor, and devoted friend.
Funeral services will take place in Florida on Monday, February 8 at the Basilica of St. Paul in Daytona Beach, Florida. Dr. Fritz requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to GW Bands and to his church through donation sites established by his family – more information coming soon.

The alumni game will continue as planned on Feb. 27, and we hope to see you there. Additional information will be circulated soon. For those of you who cannot make it, we will stay in touch regarding future events. We will continue to honor his memory though the love of music that brought us all together.
